Hello, all,
The tent donation drive jointly organized by Northern California
China 5/12 Earthquake Relief (NCC512), USTC, SVTN and members of
The Sichuan Earthquake Relief Committee (SERC) was a huge
success. As of yesterday, 1084 tents, 1108 sleeping bags, 539
blankets and 146 other items with total weight of near 30,000 lb
were collected from all the sites in bay area in less than two
days. They were carefully sorted, professionally packed and are
ready to go! This is a great teamwork and successful cooperation
among 100+ organizations in Bay Area.
More than 50 volunteers participated at Fremont site last Sunday
morning. Some came as early as 7:30am. After finishing the works
at Fremont, most of volunteers continued to help
loading/unloading and packing at Hayward site. They worked very
late in the afternoon. There were many touching stories during
the process. I was so touched by the dedication, unity and
efficiency. I attached a picture taken by Ruimin of NCSFA. It
shown a kid was in work.
We want to thank Deborah Zhao, John Hu, Huaqian Wu and the
entire Tent Donation Coordination Group for driving the “Donate
a PEACEFUL DREAM/Give them a Temporary Home” program to a
success. We want to thank every volunteer for your tireless
efforts and complete devotion to the tent donation process.

四川地震已经造成数十万人伤亡。数以百万计的房屋被损毁，百万人现在无家可归。
“给四川地震灾民一个临时的家”。一封邮件从周四发了出来，一传十，十传
百，在湾区的互连网上很快开始传送。这是由北加州中国四川地震512赈灾委
员会发起，湾区的各个团体积极响应的一次帐篷和睡袋的紧急大募捐活动。
在短短的三天时间，共筹集到3000顶以上的帐篷和数以千记的睡袋。以下是25
号在其中的一个募集点Fremont部分收集帐篷和睡袋，及包装，打包和运送的部
分照片。
所筹集到的帐篷和睡袋将在今天，26号由美国联合航空免费直接空运到四川灾区。
